Paul Nelson, PT

Paul Nelson, Licensed Physical Therapist and owner of Lifestyle Physical Therapy, is a graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. In addition to his clinical and managerial roles, working for such places as Loyola University Medical Center, McCaskey Sportsmedicine Clinic, and Joyner Sportsmedicine Institute, he has previous experience in home health and nursing home rehab.

Desiring to offer his patients more than what corporate America allowed he opened Lifestyle Physical Therapy where he could build a private practice in an outstanding orthopedic setting that would exceed his patient’s needs and expectations. His vision was successful as many of his patients are either referred by 


Laurie Witowicz, Office Manager

Laurie Witowicz, has been employed at Lifestyle Physical Therapy since 2003. Having worked in the dental field for approximately 20 years she was seeking a new, and exciting challenge. Having been a previous physical therapy patient of Paul, she was inspired to join the team at Lifestyle Physical Therapy. She will make every effort to help any patient with the ins and outs of Medicare, Workers Comp., or traditional insurance issues pertaining to their physical therapy treatment


Christy Gunnells, ATC ( Certified Athletic Trainer), is employed full-time at Lifestyle Physical Therapy, and is a graduate of North Central College, in Naperville, IL. She joined Lifestyle Physical Therapy in 2010. She specialized in sports medicine, and adapts her treatment programs to each patient's specific recreational needs. She is trained in athletic taping techniques designed to better the patient's performance.

Kathy Carter, Physical Therapy Aide

Kathy has been an integral part of Lifestyle Physical Therapy since 2012. She is a friendly presence to our patients as she helps to set-up and guide them through their physical therapy routine. Kathy completed a physical therapy studies program before joining Lifestyle Physical Therapy, and enjoys being personable with each and every patient. In her free time her daughter, and her dogs are her #1 priority!

 


Jodi Gac, Physical Therapy Assistant

Jodi Gac has been working as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant for 25 years, after graduating from Oakton Community College in 1993.

She joined Lifestyle Physical Therapy in 2015 after working for McCaskey Sportmedicine, Joyner Sportsmedicine and NovaCare Rehabilitation. Jodi is once again working along side Paul Nelson, owner of Lifestyle Physical Therapy, after working together for her first 7 years as a PTA.

Jodi's vision is to continue to provide quality care in a friendly environment and assist each patient in reaching their individual goals. Some of her specialized services include Sports Medicine injuries, Balance training, Adhesive capsulitis/FSS (frozen shoulder syndrome).

Jodi is Graston/Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization certified, treating chronic and acute soft tissue injuries and conditions.

 


Amanda Soukup, Certified Athletic Trainer

Amanda Soukup has been working as a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2015, after graduating with her BA from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. She worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Concordia University Chicago from 2015-2017, where she also received her MS in Sports Nutrition.

After working as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL for the 2017-2018 season, Amanda joined the Lifestyle Physical Therapy Staff in August of 2018.

Amanda’s specialty is in Sports Medicine. She works very hard at providing quality care and treatment plans for her patients in order to help them get back to living the lifestyle they envision.

Amanda is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association (GLATA). She is licensed through the state of Illinois and is certified through NATABOC. She also has her First Aid/CPR and AED certification through the American Heart Association.
